Join Paula as she takes you on an inner journey through the use of hypnosis, and all in the comforts of your own home!
Each month Paula will guide you through a different hypnosis event.
When you hear the word hypnosis, you may picture the mysterious hypnotist figure popularized in movies, comic books, and television. This ominous person waves a pocket watch back and forth, guiding his subject into a semi-sleep, zombie-like state. Once hypnotized, the subject is compelled to obey, no matter how strange the request.
This popular representation bears little resemblance to actual hypnotism. In fact, modern understanding of hypnosis contradicts this conception on several key points. Subjects in a hypnotic trance are not slaves to their "masters" -- they have the absolute free will. And they're not really in a semi-sleep state -- they're actually hyper-attentive. People hypnotize themselves on a daily basis .
Hypnosis is a trance state characterized by extreme suggestibility, relaxation, and heightened imagination. It is most often compared to daydreaming or the feeling of "losing yourself" in a book or movie. You are fully conscious, but you tune out most of the stimuli around you. You focus intently on the subject at hand, to the near exclusion of any other thought.
Hypnosis helps you to heal from the inside out by bypassing the conscious mind and gaining access to the subconscious. The body wants to heal itself, hypnosis helps you to connect with that part of yourself where healing begins. You don't need to believe in hypnosis for it to work for you. It simply works on a deeper level of healing where our conscious mind won't get in the way.
Join Paula, a Certified Clinical Hypnotist with the National Guild of Hypnotists as she guides you through a variety of different hypnosis sessions every other week. Each session will focus on a different aspect of healing and allow you to experience hypnosis first hand.
Cost for this event is $25 plus HST
